Summer vacation in the Tannheimer Tal
A summer holiday in the Tannheimer Tal is always a good idea. Crystal-clear mountain lakes or lush green Alpine panoramas await you in the warm months. With the panorama of the Allgäu Alps on the doorstep, its mountain lakes and the many rustic alpine pastures and huts, the Tannheimer Tal offers everything that mountain lovers could wish for.
Hiking
It is not without reason that the Tannheimer Tal has been awarded as the most popular hiking destination in Austria several times. From long walks to moderately difficult tours on high-altitude hiking trails to alpine ascents - there really is something for every type of hiker here. The most beautiful view of the valley is from the top station of the Wannenjochbahn. In 2022, the summer mountain railways and the Haldensee outdoor pool can be used daily free of charge by our guests with the "Summer mountain railways included" ticket.
Climbing
There are numerous via ferrata of varying difficulty throughout the Tannheimer Tal. From Oberjoch you can access the two-part Salewa via ferrata. After getting off, you have the option of hiking back to Schattwald.
Cycling
Whether taking a leisurely family excursion on the valley floor, comfortable tour with the e-bike or an ambitious mountain bike or racing bike tour - the "most beautiful high valley in Europe" at 1,100 meters leaves nothing to be desired.
Tours to the Vilsalpsee or the "Radwanderweg Tannheimer Tal" are particularly recommended. Thich connect the most beautiful corners of the Tyrolean high valley in stages.
Bathing
The bathing lakes in the Tannheimer Tal with their impressive mountain panorama offer an ideal opportunity to regenerate after a sweaty mountain or bike tour. But sporting activities such as surfing or rowing are also possible there. The Vilsalpsee, which is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol, is located in the middle of a nature reserve and is very well suited for a lazy bathing day.
Adventure playground "Plitsch Platsch"
In just five minutes on foot from LA SOA you can reach the adventure playground "Plitsch Platsch" ("Splish Splash" translated) in town. In addition to a pond with a water wheel and fountain, there is a large sand playground to let off steam.
